A serial limited edition art book published by With Projects, White Zinfandel is devoted to the visual manifestation of culture through food. White Zinfandel is the continuation of a curatorial experiment, coupling food and art as a reliable means of provoking unexpected reactions, cravings, and curiosities. The food—inspired topics extend to the launch of every issue, with a curated menu concepted by an invited chef. The menu itself is an opportunity to create a more immersive artistic experience for the invited community of fine artists, writers, architects, curators, gallerists and designers. Some launch locations include the Buckminster Fuller Dome in the Miami Design District during Art Basel (2016), the Philip Johnson Glass House in New Caanan, and the Schindler Church in South Central Los Angeles during LA Art Book Fair (2017). Artist activations, chef collaborations and limited editions are produced for every event. White Zinfandel has been described as, “Imagine if Marcel Duchamp guest-edited Bon Appétit” by the New York Times. Art direction and design for Mary Ellen Carroll’s No. 9, the final performance in the conceptual artist’s series My Death is Pending… Because. My Death is Pending… Because is a series of artworks and performances begun in 1986 and was scheduled to end in 2017 (originally 2012). The series ended with MEC participating in the demolition derby at Irwindale Speedway in Los Angeles, filmed and edited by Michele Asselin. The series conception and production was influenced by Rube Goldberg’s stream-of-consciousness methodology. Development of an exhibition system for The Commons, the new graphic design gallery at Rhode Island School of Design. The Commons has incorporated a modular hanging system with collapsable latches which offer new and inventive ways of hanging and creating new space within the gallery. 2015
